Seamless Wet-Room Flooring: What the Specification Must Cover

The cover image is illustrative, not a documented Puur project.

A wet-room floor requires more than a continuous appearance. The design should establish a compatible base, waterproofing, drainage, junctions and finish for the actual exposure.

Exclude unsuitable finishes early

Puur PSR cementitious overlay is not a wet-room shower-floor finish. Do not assume a sealer makes it suitable. Discuss other proposed systems against their own written specifications.

Coordinate drainage and waterproofing

Agree falls, drain connections, penetrations and thresholds with the wet-room designer. Do not rely on an ordinary self-levelling decorative pour to create the required drainage profile.

Obtain relevant surface evidence

Ask for performance information appropriate to water, soap and barefoot use where applicable. A glossy photograph or a generic coefficient does not establish suitability for a particular wet room.

Agree care and handover

Confirm approved cleaning methods and the point at which shower use is permitted. Follow the actual system’s installation and heating requirements rather than a universal restart or drying schedule.

Discuss your project with Puur

Send plans, photographs of the existing base, intended use and any heating details. We can discuss the finish, samples and the information needed before agreeing a specification.
