Seamless Flooring and Tiles: Comparing Cleaning Requirements
The cover image is illustrative, not a documented Puur project.
A floor comparison should start with the cleaning tasks in the actual building. A continuous finish and a tiled layout have different details, but neither removes the need to manage dirt, spills and maintenance.
Compare the complete surface
Review the finish, junctions, movement joints, grout or sealant, and drainage details together. A material name or a photograph is not evidence that a complete floor meets a particular hygiene requirement.
Ask about cleaning compatibility
Give suppliers the proposed cleaning products, equipment and frequency. Obtain written confirmation for the installed finish. Do not assume an ordinary resin, cementitious overlay or tile system tolerates every disinfectant.
Separate cleanability from antimicrobial claims
Fewer grout joints may simplify some cleaning tasks, but a continuous-looking floor is not sterile or inherently antimicrobial. Any specific antimicrobial claim needs evidence for the exact product and intended application.
Budget for care as well as installation
Compare realistic cleaning labour, access, inspections and finish renewal. Avoid assuming a fixed maintenance saving or payback period. The building operator should receive a care plan that suits the final specification.
Discuss your project with Puur
Send plans, photographs of the existing base, intended use and any heating details. We can discuss the finish, samples and the information needed before agreeing a specification.
